Scripture Reading: John 8:4-47.

Memory Verse: John 8:45.

1. What did Adam and Eve attempt to do when they heard God’s voice? Genesis 3:8.
2. Can we hide from God? Were Adam and Eve successful? Psalm 139:1-12.
Note: A guilty conscience makes an individual attempt to hide from God. However, God never slumbers nor sleeps, and His eyes behold the hidden things. He saw Adam and Eve among the trees in the garden, and He sees everything we do today.
3. What should we do when we are overtaken in sin? James 5:16, Proverbs 28:13.
4. Will God have mercy on those who are willing to obey Him? Why? Isaiah 61:10, Isaiah 1:18-19.
5. What did God make for our fore-parents after they had sinned? Genesis 3:21.
6. Who received the greatest curse? Genesis 3:14.
7. Does man have the knowledge of good and evil today? What does this mean? Genesis 3:22.
8. Why did God drive Adam from the garden? Genesis 3:23.
9. Who did God set to guard the garden? Genesis 3:24.
Note: The Devil wanted to have full control over man forever. He caused Adam and Eve to sin and they were driven out of the garden. “In sorrow thou shalt bring forth children” was God’s punishment for the woman; and “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread” was His punishment for the man.
10. Is the tree of life mentioned in the New Testament? What does it do? Revelation 22:2.
11. Who will be permitted to eat of the tree in the midst of the garden? Revelation 2:7.
12. Who is at the door today? John 10:9.
13. Who did Jesus leave guards with His work? Why? Acts 20:28, Matthew 16:18-19.
14. Who did Paul leave in charge of the work when he departed? II Timothy 4:1-2, Titus 1:5.
Note: Shortly after man sinned God commanded watchmen to guard the tree of life. God has watchmen over His work today. We must be subject to those whom our Lord has commissioned if we want to receive the promise of everlasting life.
