Witnessing - Qualified to Witness: Part 4 of 13

Preview: A study of how, why, and when we should witness for God. This is the fourth part of a thirteen-part series on this subject.


Scripture Reading: II Timothy 1:1-8.

Memory Verse: Acts 1:8.

1. Do we find in the foregoing Scriptures that a good witness must first have a personal experience with God, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit before he is qualified to witness to others? Discuss.
2. How do we prepare for the call to witness? II Timothy 2:15-17, II Timothy 2:19, II Timothy 2:21.
3. What must a successful witness have? II Timothy 2:22.
4. What is the first step in achieving a pure heart? Romans 12:1-2.
5. Will all who witness be in the Kingdom? Explain. Matthew 7:22-23, Matthew 7:26-27.
6. What makes the difference between a faithful witness and a foolish one? Matthew 7:20-21, Matthew 7:24-25.
Note: When we bear witness to the truth it may be beneficial to someone, but unless we do the will of God ourselves we will be lost. It is not those who just hear the Word, but the doers that are saved. Read the Book of Jonah.
7. What did Paul say about his own life? I Corinthians 9:27.
8. How does Jesus describe the message and life of a qualified witness? Matthew 5:14-16.
9. Why was Joseph such a successful witness while in bondage? Genesis 39:1-5, Genesis 39:21-22.
10. Is God able to prepare us for the mission for which we are called according to God’s purpose? Discuss. Exodus 3:1-4, Exodus 3:7-12, Exodus 4:1-5, Exodus 4:10-12.
Note: Nothing is impossible with God. When we answer His call He will supply what we lack. The world is more likely to see how we act, than to hear what we say.
Joseph and Moses were living messages. We are also called to be living epistles, known and read by all. In a sense, we must become a living Word. Read II Corinthians 3:1-3. What kind of witness does your life proclaim?
