Preview: This is the second part of the two-part lesson of the same name.
Scripture Reading: II Peter 3:1-14.
Memory Verse: II Peter 3:11.
1. Do you believe that it is time now to get ready? Romans 13:11-14.
2. Do you believe it would be wise to let someone help you prepare? Explain. Acts 8:29-31.
3. How did the people respond after hearing the preaching of Peter on the day of Pentecost? Acts 2:37.
4. How did Peter respond to the people’s request? Acts 2:38.
Note: A repentant spirit with a willingness of heart to do whatever is necessary to get the job done is what it takes. We could use the final attitude of Peter when Jesus was washing the disciple’s feet, and of the eunuch when Phillip was preaching to him in the chariot, and of the people at the preaching of Peter on the day of Pentecost. As the songwriter says, “I Surrender All.” The Apostle Paul says God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
5. What trend of thought should we follow? Philippians 2:5, Ephesians 4:22-23.
6. How should we prepare? Colossians 3:3-14, II Corinthians 5:17.
7. In detail, how does this come about? Ephesians 4:24-32.
8. What must our attitude be to accomplish this? I Peter 5:5-6, Isaiah 57:15.
Note: As the appointment of death is an unavoidable experience for the saints, it is highly necessary to be properly prepared. Since time is running out, let us pray and work hard together helping one another in the fear and love of God with the help of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. May we be ready on time to take that trip to meet Jesus in the air. AMEN!
