Preview: A lesson on what to watch for in the time of the end.
Scripture Reading: Revelation 14:6-13.
Memory Verse: Revelation 14:12.
1. What is the mission of the first angel? Revelation 14:6.
Note: Everlasting continues for all eternity. This Gospel is to be preached to every kindred, tongue, and people. It will cover the heathen lands.
2. What is the everlasting Gospel composed of? Revelation 14:7.
Note: The first angel’s message is turning every kindred, tongue, and people to worship God, their Creator, who made Heaven and earth. For the above reason it is everlasting as they will worship the Creator who made Heaven and earth in this world and in the world to come. The first angel’s message is for this present age and for all ages to come. It never becomes past tense; therefore, it is everlasting. This is the message the Church of God, Body of Christ will spread to all the earth. This message has not circled the globe yet.
3. To which one of the Ten Commandments does the first angel direct all mankind? Exodus 20:3.
4. Why don’t all ministers sound the message to worship the Creator who made Heaven and earth? Ezekiel 22:26.
5. How do the prayers of those teachers appear before God? Proverbs 28:9.
6. Will the seventh day Sabbath be observed in the new Heaven and new earth? Isaiah 66:22-23.
7. What is meant by "perpetual covenant", and what does it mean for the Sabbath? Exodus 31:16.
Note: As the fourth Commandment is everlasting, the first angel’s message is everlasting.
8. What happens to the Churches of Babylon with their divided messages when the first angel’s message is sounded? Revelation 14:8.
Note: The second angel follows saying: “Babylon is fallen.”
9. What had the nations been drinking from the Babylon cup? Revelation 14:8 (last part).
Note: The nations had been drinking of the wine of the wrath of fornication. In other words: they were worshiping falsely, which was committing spiritual fornication. Sunday keeping is substituted for the Holy Sabbath Day; of purely pagan origin. God has plainly said to keep the seventh day, but man has said, “NO, keep the first day.”
10. Who is the Author and the Lord of the Sabbath? Mark 2:27-28.
11. Who is the author and lord of Sunday keeping?
Answer: We have no divine command for Sunday keeping. History plainly declares that Constantine, a heathen king, issued the first Sunday law.
Note: The first angel’s message is swift. It flies. It is high time for every child of God to sound the everlasting Gospel that points men to the fourth Commandment written by God’s finger, giving full record of creation, and that God only should be worshiped.
12. Where did the Devil take Jesus and what did he show Him that he might cause Jesus to worship him? Matthew 4:8-9.
13. How did Jesus answer him, and who only should be worshiped? Matthew 4:10.
14. What does the third angel declare will be the reward for those that refuse to heed the first angel’s message? Revelation 14:9-11.
15. What is the faith of those who will remain after the third angel’s message is poured out? Revelation 14:12.
16. Who only will enter in through the pearly gate? Revelation 22:14.
Note: God help us all to heed the first angel’s message and we need not worry about the second or the third angel’s messages overtaking us. Let us sound the everlasting Gospel turning men to Him who made Heaven and earth. When men worship the Creator they will gladly receive His day and enjoy it in the new Heaven and new earth.
