Preview: A review of when the Lord will bring His reward to us and what it is composed of.
Scripture Reading: Revelation 21:16-27.
Memory Verse: Revelation 22:12.
1. What were Christ’s parting promises to His disciples? John 14:2.
2. What does Paul say God has prepared for His people? Hebrews 11:16.
3. Where is this city and what is it called? Galatians 4:26.
4. For what did Abraham look? Hebrews 11:10.
5. What did John see concerning this city? Revelation 21:2.
Note: God promises that He has gone to prepare a place for us, and in it are many mansions. Paul said, He had prepared a city, and He called it Jerusalem which is the mother of us all. Abraham looked for that city whose builder was God. John saw the Holy city New Jerusalem prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. It is not only a promise of God, but a reward for God’s children. The Holy City will come when Jesus comes, and not, as some say, a thousand years after Christ comes.
6. Whose names are in the foundation? Revelation 21:14.
7. When will Christ reward His people? Matthew 16:27.
Note: Surely His reward includes the Holy City, the mother of us all. Some say it will come a thousand years after Christ, but that would make Christ short of His promises, and a disappointment to the Patriarchs and all the saints.
8. What are the dimensions of the new City? Revelation 21:16.
9. How numerous are the followers of Satan? Revelation 20:7-8.
10. Where will the Saints of God worship on the Sabbath? Isaiah 66:22-23.
Note: New Jerusalem comes down 375 miles on each side of it, and 375 miles high and will accommodate many times more than the present population of the globe. That will give us a greater capacity than what the whole land of Palestine is today.
11. Where will Jerusalem be located when Jesus comes? Zechariah 14:4.
Note: The Mount of Olives will cleave in four directions.
12. Will there be a river and seasons? Zechariah 14:8.
13. Who will be Lord and King over the earth? Zechariah 14:9.
14. Who will dwell in it and will there be destruction? Zechariah 14:11.
15. How many gates will there be and of what are they composed? Revelation 21:21.
16. What is written on the gates? Revelation 21:12.
17. Will sinners and unsaved enter therein? Isaiah 35:8-9.
18. Is the above the truth? When was this to come? Revelation 22:6.
Note: It is not reasonable to believe that billions would worship in ancient Jerusalem. Jesus has promised He will bring His reward with Him, and no unclean or sinner can enter in.
19. Are the gates to be closed? Revelation 21:25.
20. Who will be excluded from the city? Revelation 21:27.
21. Who only will be permitted to enter in? Revelation 22:14.
22. Will there be sorrow, deaths, and pain? Revelation 21:4.
23. What will flow through the city, and how often will we have fresh fruit? Revelation 22:1-2.
