Promises of Strength Through God

Preview: Strength is required of all Christians to stand up for what is right no matter what the obstacles are in our path. God provides this strength to all who believe in Him.


Scripture Reading: Psalm 71:1-18.

Memory Verse: Psalm 46:1.

1. Whom did Moses say was his source of strength? Exodus 15:2.
2. Do you think that Job acknowledged the powers of God? Explain. Job 12:9-14.
3. What promise of strength do we have if we are a true child of God? Psalm 46:1-3.
Note: Strength is only one of many promises made to us by our Lord and Savior. All that is required of us is to live a true Christian life in order to claim these promises.
4. Was Abraham acting on his own strength when he went up on the mountain to offer Isaac, his only son? Discuss. Genesis 22:1-2.
5. In whom do we have the promise of salvation? Psalm 27:1.
6. For what should we be seeking? Ecclesiastes 9:16.
Note: If we are spending our time in searching for strength, we are missing out on one of God’s great promises, because God will provide the strength we need, when we need it.
7. Was Daniel afraid of claiming God’s promises in time of trouble? Daniel 6:10, Daniel 6:22.
8. Was David hesitant in claiming God’s promises of strength when he went to meet Goliath? I Samuel 17:37, I Samuel 17:44-47.
Note: If we aren’t claiming God’s promises, it’s our own fault. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
