Who We Are in Christ

Preview: A lesson on the relationship we have with the Lord.


Scripture Reading: Genesis 1:26-31.

Memory Verse: Genesis 2:7.

1. Who made man and for what purpose according to the foregoing Scriptures?
2. What was man’s status at creation? Psalm 8:4-8.
Note: God created man perfectly; just a little lower than the angels. He put man in charge of everything else on the earth, but man changed the course.
3. What broke this perfect relationship with God? Genesis 3:1-8.
4. How did the Apostle Paul affirm man’s past and present position with God? Hebrews 2:6-8.
Note: Paul recognized that since man had sinned all things were no longer under his authority.
5. What did Paul say about man’s second chance? Hebrews 2:9-11, Hebrews 2:16 & Hebrews 2:18.
6. How does one take advantage of this opportunity? John 5:24, Hebrews 3:6-8 & Hebrews 3:12-15.
7. Can we literally become sons of God? John 1:12-13.
8. Does this sonship take place in this present life? Philippians 2:14-15 & I John 3:1-3.
Note: Unless we are born of the Spirit in this life, we will never be a child of the King.
9. What are the characteristics of those who are the children of God? Romans 8:14.
10. Is it our goodness or God’s faithfulness that makes this possible? I Corinthians 1:9 & I Corinthians 10:13.
Note: We can count on the promises of a faithful and unchanging God. If we desire to be reconciled to Him, He has made the way through the precious blood of His only begotten Son.
