Preview: Our lives can be fulfilling and wonderful only through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we find the path to eternal life.

Scripture Reading: I John 5:1-13.

Memory Verse: I John 5:12.

1. What is assured to those who believe in Christ? John 3:16.
2. What is revealed, or brought to light, through the Gospel? Romans 1:16-17.
3. How did Christ bring life and immortality to light? II Timothy 1:10.
4. How are righteousness and life related? Proverbs 12:28.
5. What can we expect to find by following after righteousness? Proverbs 21:21.
6. Through what does grace reign unto eternal life? Romans 5:21.
7. What is the life of the Spirit? Romans 8:10.
Note: Many people in our world today are filled with a dead Spirit. Their emotions are active, but that desire to follow the very principles and rules of righteousness has died. Righteousness (not emotions) is the life of the Spirit. It makes room for right things and creates minds that are willing to be subject to the Commandments of God. Unrighteousness brings death to the Spirit. The smallest degree of sin will shut off the entrance for right principles, drive away right attitudes, and push out the Spirit of God.
8. How did David define the Commandments of God? Psalm 119:172.
Note: Thus we find that life and righteousness cannot be separated.
9. How did Jesus describe the Commandments of God? John 12:50.
10. What was Jeremiah’s prophetic description of Christ? Jeremiah 23:6.
11. How did Jesus describe Himself? John 14:6.
12. From whom do we receive righteousness? Romans 5:17.
13. Through whom is eternal life given to those who walk in the path of righteousness? Romans 6:23.
14. What did Moses set forth as the principle of righteousness? Deuteronomy 6:25.
15. To what does Christ point those who seek eternal life? Matthew 19:17.
Note: The righteousness of God which is obtained through faith in Christ and obedience to His Commandments gives freedom from the bondage of sin, and assurance of everlasting life. Therefore let us seek diligently after the Spirit of God lest we be led to death by the spirit of the evil one.
